Randolph Carter Honored at MCRC@ADVIS Conference

Congratulations to Alma Partners Co-Founder Randolph Carter, who was recently honored at the MCRC@ADVIS 2025 DEIJB Conference. Randolph was a founder of the Multicultural Resource Center (MCRC) and, at the April 25th conference in Philadelphia, spoke on a panel entitled Legacy, Strength, and Vision: Honoring the Past, Grounding the Present, and Shaping the Future of Equity in Education, alongside Sherry T. Coleman, Darryl J. Ford, and Blair Stambaugh.

More about the panel: “Celebrating the 35 years of MCRC’s unwavering commitment to equity and justice in education, this panel brings together four foundational voices who helped shape the early vision and enduring impact of equity work in independent schools. Through personal stories and collective reflection, the panelists will revisit the moments, people, and movements that gave rise to MCRC, explore how the work has evolved over time, and reflect on the challenges and breakthroughs that have marked the journey. Together, we’ll honor the past, find strength in the present, and commit to the values and vision that continue to guide our path forward.”

In addition to his work with Alma Partners and MCRC@ADVIS, Randolph is a founder of East Ed (Eastern Educational Resource Collaborative), which focuses on the pursuit of academic excellence via equitable teaching practices and healthy school climates. East Ed frames their equity work in education as a strategic opportunity, asking: How can we leverage what we know about the benefits of diversity in our classrooms? Utilizing current research in the field of anti-bias education, East Ed moves schools from having “best intentions” to developing real strategies for transformation and measurable outcomes for success, helping schools shift from the notion of a “student achievement gap” to seeing our collective work as an “expectation” gap.

We're so proud of your legacy, Randolph, and honor your lifelong dedication to equity in education and the fundamental dignity of students. We are deeply grateful that we get to work alongside you as you share your talents and knowledge with us and our clients, as a member of Alma Partners!
